These words are my diary screaming out loud, and I know that you'll use them however you want to

  1. I am so in love.  I love you, Shelly!!!!  I'm glad you liked your Valentine's presents!
  2. Gay-dar.  I definitely called this one.  Turns out that US figure skater Johnny Weir is gay, just like I said he was.  I guess it's not too hard to figure out, though, so I won't pat myself on the back too much.  I mean, let's think about it...the other night in an interview he said that he wasn't a diva.  What heterosexual man says "diva" when talking about himself?  Exactly.  And there's this little bit from an ESPN article: "His favorite male singer is Justin Timberlake and his Web site also lists his favorite fashion designers (Balenciaga), boutiques (Barneys), models (Kate Moss) and teams (Gordeeva and Grinkov, Berezhnaia and Sikharulidze, and -- surprisingly -- the Boston Red Sox). He wears costumes that Elton John might wear for Mardi Gras, including a red glove in Tuesday's short program that he named Camille. He used the phrase "I did a little hoppy-hop like a bunny" while describing Thursday's performance, which is something you rarely hear from say, Brett Favre."  But still, I totally called it.

  3. Finished A Million Little Pieces today.  I don't care if the author lied about a majority of the book...it's still great.   Definitely read it.
  4. Went to a classic books lecture on The Odyssey, which was very interesting.  And I felt intellectually stimulated, which hasn't happened since I graduated from college.
  5. Our power went out at 4:30 this morning, and didn't come back until 2:30.  I know, it doesn't sound like a positive, but it gave me the opportunity to do a lot of reading, which is how I was able to finish A Million Little Pieces.
  6. Winter Olympics are in full force!  And I really enjoy watching them.
  7. Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, and Al Roker.  The fabulous crew of NBC's Today Show is broadcasting from Torino this week.  Katie tried ski jumping while Matt and Al out the doubles luge.  As USAToday puts it, "That bit, of course, was just an excuse to put the boys in skintight suits and let them make hey-we're-straight jokes about lying together in a butt-to-groin position. ("That's not a handle," Lauer warned Roker as he reached for the sled.) "  Poor Ann Curry is always left home to water the plants.

  8. Went to the bank yesterday and deposited $97 in coins, which I have been collecting for, well, forever.
  9. US figure skater Evan Lysacek spent the day in the village infirmary with IV needles plunged into his body, and yet he somehow turned the performance of his life to move from 10th to fourth. Had bronze medalist Jeffrey Buttle of Canada fallen, Lysacek would have finished the day on the podium.
  10. I just need to re-work my resume a bit, and then I can send off some of my writing to apply for a journalism job.  Hopefully I'll get it, because I really don't want to get my heart and dignity stomped on again.  I have been rejected a lot by potential employers (and by the way, if any of them are reading this...it's your loss).
